Location of SIRAM Totem in the access point

The positioning of the capture unit with regard to the ground must always meet the following requirements:

– The smallest horizontal and vertical angle possible with respect to the centre of the number plate. The maximum recommended angle is 30 degrees, the smaller this angle the greater will be the reflection of the IR light.

– When the vehicle is captured it must be properly in the lane: if when the vehicle is captured it is turning and the capture unit is located on the wrong side, the camera cannot see the number plate. It is always necessary to seek the most perpendicular position for the camera in terms of the number plate.

– At the time of capture or trigger, the characters of the plate must be between the “Minimum Size” and “Maximum Size” shown in SIRAM OCR in the toolbox.

– If the capture is performed using a software or hardware trigger, it is necessary to take into account the concealment produced when vehicles travel in convoy.
